Absolutely worth reading!

Having read many, many books regarding this subject, I have to confess I went into this one prepared to be disappointed. Boy, was I in for a big surprise!

This book is awesome in every respect. It blends channeling experience masterfully with the past life regression seemlessly and flawlessly. I hung on every word, and could completely identify with the author, his friends and the subject matter, barely able to put it down.

The printing and craftmanship of the book is a little bit odd, but after the first page I hardly noticed. I love the format and the way the author set up his story, which is compelling and authentic. Worthy of many more than 5 stars. If you want to get down to the nitty gritty of past life regression and channeling, then this book won't disappoint. I promise.

Great insight

I was deciding between a new house to buy and picked up this book because I thought it might provide some insight into how I should make my decision. Specifically, I was looking to reduce the factors and focus in on what was most important to me.

And you know what? That's exactly what I found. I was able to:

-Find my own priorities
-Discover my subconscious needs and desires
-Avoid decision traps and flaws in my thinking and assumptions
-Think emotionally and NOT
-Reality test and prepare for failure - part of the WRAP process

Overall it doesn't give you a complete answer, but it gives you the right questions to ask to find your answer, which ultimately is just as important. The rest is finding what is meaningful to you, which is tough for anyone. Maybe requires some soul searching and that helps me narrow in on my choice for the house I am going to buy! I can tell you right now the enhanced to-do lists were very helpful and gave life to the factors in my brain.

I recommend this book to everyone who likes a bit of science and psychology in their daily life.

Great for the psychology junkie

I read a study awhile ago (in one of my textbooks) about how we take action first and then come up with a reason for the action afterwards. It basically implied that we aren't consciously making decisions, we are just justifying them after the fact. This book reminds me of the same type of feeling. Do we have free will and what is influencing us on a daily basis?

It's so interesting to think about. Lots of similar studies and research referenced in this book that sheds light on how we think and what makes us think. Great for the psychology junkie.

What a perfect niche. The author has found a problem that plagues every one of us. In today's Information Age we are all confronted with too much information and it is overwhelming and exhausting. Hollins is able to relate to us, walk us through simple, applicable systems to allow us to quickly make good decisions. By building and executing these systems I've been able to have more time and energy both at work and at home!

Only Marginally Helpful Guide

The production values of this guide are very, very good. Nicely bound and printed. It seems like they didn't have access to all the final screen shots while producing the guide, many of the shots appear to be non-production art, or even concept art illustrations. It makes it difficult to match the guide to the game in some parts.

The maps are white on black (like they are on the game) and very difficult to read. The maps are not very detailed in many parts either. All the items are listed, but not always named and of course the two dimensional map doesn't tell you if the thing you're searching for is above or below.

I didn't like the flow of the book. They had the main areas that you progress through in one section and the challenges, tombs and camps associated with those areas in a whole other section of the book. I had to put little post-its so I could flip between them. The walkthroughs are fairly bare-boned, not a lot of detail. I was only able to get one good tip from them, getting through most of the game without even referring to the walkthroughs - and I'm not that good a gamer, they just weren't helpful.

The listings of the skills and weapons are very helpful. You don't have to flip around on screen to compare them and decide which upgrade or skill you might want. The book is probably worth it just for these sections.

I didn't need this book to get through the game, but I like having it, even though it's not the most useful. It's not as hefty as the guide for the last TR game, but being a hardcover I like it more.

It doesn't have any information on the non-campaign parts of the game. I don't consider that a loss, since I'm unlikely to do any of those parts.

Pictures worth a 1000 words?

Honestly, if you've been following these Prima guides since forever, you know they're kind of a racket. Mostly fluff, with some maps and such thrown in to maybe ease your journey.
Let's take the way-back machine to Prima's Diablo Official Strategy Guide from 1997 (holy cow, that's like 20 years ago! man I am old). That was in a time when game tips were much more difficult to come upon via a simple web search (do you remember Netscape in 1998? And how slow it was?) Although much of the information in the guide was not terribly useful to anyone who played regularly, there were some pages worth their weight in gold (e.g., the skinny on shrines that permanently damage your character). Furthermore, the Diablo guide contained an interview with the game designers. Why doesn't Prima still add features like that in their guides (content that can't be found elsewhere)???
Despite always not being as helpful as we'd like, I still buy Prima guides sometimes if I *love* a game and/or if the artwork is appealing. Glad this was available in hardcover, because that's how I like my books.

Final note: The key chain in this collector's edition is basically for decorative purposes only. Designed by an evil physicist, it's heavy but has a wimpy little chain; it would last about 2 minutes in Lara's life, and about 2 weeks in mine.

We have purchased each walk-through for all of the Tomb Raider Games. This is the first time that this guide does not help you as much as it should. It leaves off many areas that you need to go to. It also it hard to follow it. It does not show all the things you can pick up and some of the tombs are not labeled correctly. First time we have been disappointed with a walk-through

In this brilliant manifesto Professor Robinson single handedly resuscitates the nexus of the American South, Southern Studies, and sociology--brininging vibrant prose and a keen cultural eye to important questions about race in a post Civil Rights and post Obama Amercia. This book is required reading.

A must have for learning about the contemporary south.

This ain't Chicago tells our stories. It gives validity to the south as a region of creatives, thinking and highly intuitive individuals. A lot has happened in the last 50+ years since the civil rights movement and the soul music era. No has covered that history, until NOW. This ain't Chicago is a must have for southerns and all Americans to learn about the region that has so much impact on the entire country.

About the Author
While in college at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, Lonnie Berger received his initial Navigator ministry training. His first staff assignment was behind the Iron Curtain in communist Romania, where he lived and directed the Navigator work in three cities. There he met his missionary wife, June, also ministering in Romania with The Navigators. They have been married since 1984 and have two grown daughters, Stephanie and Karen.

During his years on staff with The Navigators, Berger has served as one of five U.S. Directors for the Community ministry, overseeing the development of 175 staff in 125 major cities. He is a conference speaker and continues mentoring other Christian leaders in discipleship, evangelism, ministry funding, and spiritual warfare.

Lots of busywork, formats, acronyms

This book is probably going to be enjoyable if you have never done any Bible study ever. But you won't find much helpful here. It feels like giving you lots of busywork is giving you tools but it isn't. My quiet times since I started using this method are dreadful. I don't understand the WAR method of praying. Memorizing verses seems like a good idea but I'm not good at it and it's just another thing I'm failing at. This is probably one of the least spiritual studies I have ever done. I don't feel like a warrior. I feel like a busybody homemaker holy roller wannabe.

I think most other men in my group have enjoyed this book so it must be me. But I wanted to write this so anyone else who finds this material dreadful or boring or useless maybe will feel better knowing that it's not just you.

This is a great way to bring men to a point of making a difference!

Our church has been using this material for 3 months and the changes in the men has been significant. They are learning how to study God's Word in their Quiet Times, how to memorize Scripture that can be used every day, and how to become part of band of brothers who uplift, pray for, and support each other during the week. If you are willing to commit 1 to 2 hours per week to your spiritual life then you will see great rewards!

The latest Joe Tyler hit

"Thread of Revenge" is the latest story in the Joe Tyler series by Jeff Shelby. This one is so captivating, that I'm glad I'm retired and could devote the time I needed in order to finish in one sitting! I literally couldn't put it down, I just wanted to finish so that I could see how it turned out.

Now Joe and Lauren have Elizabeth back home with them and everyone is trying to move on with a normal life, but Joe gets a visit and phone call that keeps everything off kilter.

Previously when Joe asked John Anchor for assistance in finding Elizabeth, he knew he would have a debt to pay -- though not a monetary one. Then he lied abut doing the "favor" that would clear the debt. Now John Anchor is making his life a living hell -- Joe has just 72 hours to find & kill someone and isn't given any information on how to locate the guy. Once he does accomplish this task, he is then informed that he now needs to go on another quest - to find someone near and dear to him.

Without giving any more of the story away, this is one story that you will not want to miss -- it will capture your attention from the very first page.

Very powerful book

This installment of the Joe Tyler series is incredibly powerful. Joe finds out that his dealings with Mr. Anchor (who helped him find his kidnapped daughter, but wanted a “favor” in return) are not over, and that starts a chain of events that affects Joe, Lauren (his wife), and Elizabeth (his teenage daughter who had been kidnapped, but is now home), not to mention the son of a recently deceased mob boss. The story is fascinating, and it moves swiftly along. The action is non-stop, and I couldn’t put the ebook down. I was moved by the ending of the book, which I didn’t see coming at all. A powerful book and a great read!

Although Jeff Shelby provided me with an advanced copy of this book for reviewing/editing purposes before publication, I can assure you that my review is totally unbiased.

Best "Thread" Yet!

Jeff Shelby has quickly become one of my favorite writers. This latest installment in the "Thread" series is the grittiest yet - Joe Tyler has to make some very tough decisions between the person that he thought he was, and the person he has been forced to become. There's a bonus appearance of Noah and Carter for fans of his Noah Braddock series. If you haven't read any of the prior "Thread" stories, just start at the beginning and settle in for some awesome storytelling. And if you're in the mood for something more lighthearted instead, read his Moose River series! They're hysterical!
