I tried to keep everything organized, so I almost always:
• Highlight vocabulary words in YELLOW
• Color in definitions in green highlighter
• Use BLUE PEN for important people, places, dates, and terms
• Doodle a pretty sweet Alice in Wonderland and whatnot to visually show the big ideas

If you’re not loving your textbook and you’re not so great at taking notes in class, this notebook will help. It hits all the major points. (But if your teacher spends a whole class talking about something that’s not covered, go ahead and write that down for yourself.)

If you teach middle school, you will love this book.

This is an absolutely fantastic book which relates to middle schoolers visually and with the texts and examples given. I teach 7th grade and I plan on using this book in my classroom this school year. Just got the copy I preordered in the mail and I can't put it down. I think my students are going to really enjoy it as well.

Great Home School Resource...Even For Younger Grades

Going to use this as supplemental for home school. We will use it over several years getting deeper in to subjects as we go. Looks like a fab resource and will save me HOURS of time. I bought the whole set (World History, Ancient History, Science, Math and English). So did two of my fellow home school mom friends. We are all looking forward to using them as part of our curriculum.

I was happy to see this offered by Brain Quest for the older kids. I like the format, it's visually appealing, and it's thick but not overwhelming.

There are questions at the end of the sections, followed by answers on the other side of the page. Great for students who can handle being self guided.

I am really pleased at my initial look at of this series- For a review/ overview of basic info for the middle school student.

Now, if they would incorporate this idea into Highschool core courses that would be great!

The book "Clandestine Photography: Basic and Advance Daytime and Nighttime Manual Surveillance Photography Techniques - For Military Special Operations Forces, Law Enforcement, Intelligence Agencies and Investigators" is the bible to the art and science of surreptitious photography. This can be a very complicated subject, but with this manual a lot of the trial and error is already done for you excelling your learning curve. This allows the surveillance operator to focus on the physical learning of the skill-set with limited experimentation. I have seen surveillance operators spend numerous hours employing tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), as well as learning to use the related equipment incorrectly. The surveillance operator armed with this book and the proper user's manual to the specific equipment employed will save countless man-hours in training and operations, producing a quality end product. This book covers every subject one would need to know to successfully pull-off a photographic surveillance operation from pre-mission planning, equipment selection, to what TTPs to employ, as well as post mission maintenance and refit. Although this book focuses on basic and advanced still photography the majority of the TTPs can be employed for video surveillance operations as well. Additionally, as the cover states, this book is for police and special operations forces, this is not a marketing ploy to sell the book. The book does an excellent job specifically catering to these organizations and intertwines clandestine photography with current military TTPs. Overall, I cannot recommend this book more to police and military surveillance operators, but also believe that the civilian photographer may find relevant information also in this book. This book is well worth its cost so do not let it scare you away. The book provides a solid foundation to all who needs to carry out any kind of clandestine photography.
This book deals with everything from the conventional basic stuff up to more sophisticated, clandestine methods of photography.
The authors present ways to minimize equipment costs and presents methods to put together low cost optical systems that can match equipment that cost more than 10 times as much.
The manual is very understandable, very well-illustrated, and if you you are on a limited budget, buy this book and learn how to get the best bang for your buck.

With great erudition and impeccable scholarship, Viet Thanh Nguyen shows us how the traumatic repercussions of war defy simplification, and how facile it is to misremember the dead. Focusing on the American war in Vietnam, and referencing other conflicts (Korea, Cambodia, the Philippines), the author challenges us to extend our understanding and compassion to participants and victims on both sides of the battlefield. By remembering others, we expand and enrich our own stance.

Growing up in post-war Europe, I absorbed a good dose of aversion to the Germans and the Russians. Years later, while Europe was uniting and setting out to reconcile old enemies, I was relieved not to have to blame and point the finger any longer. After moving to Canada, I succumbed to the American version of the war in Vietnam by watching the movies (Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter, etc.) and reading the literary war accounts (Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried, Michael Herr’s Dispatches, and others). I admired their artistry but seldom questioned the American one-sidedness.

Reading Nothing Ever Dies, meant revisiting the shameful conflict within an expanded Vietnamese-American context to great personal enrichment. Particularly superb are the chapters showing how the “industries of memory” (books, TV, movies) constrain our ethical vision by practicing political partisanship and exclusion. Viet Thanh Nguyen’s analytical depth and boundless intellect are here on full display. A biography of 22 pages of “Works Cited” attests to his curiosity and rigour. The book is compelling not least because the author weaves the painful, valiant, and ultimately fortunate trajectory of his family (from a hardscrabble village in northern Vietnam, via refugee camps, to prosperous California) into the broader framework of his inquiry.

Nothing Ever Dies challenges us to cultivate a more compassionate sensibility and to recognize that each one of us is capable of being human and also inhuman. An engaging and empowering read.

A significant but unsatisfying read.

The book arrived in the mail promptly and in good condition; no complaints there.

Reading this book left me discontented and yet I plan to read through it again, more slowly. I am a Vietnam veteran who hopes to apply some meaning and coherence to what I remember. This book, on first read, anyway, did not really help with that, although I do feel rewarded with several meaningful insights, of which perhaps the most significant is that, although The United States’ involvement in Indochina amounted to a huge murderous blunder, everything that happened was not just about the Americans. Nothing Ever Dies would be more helpful to someone who has read more than I have, since it is full of references to other books. I intend to read some of them and to reread this book.

But I think Viet Thanh Nguyen would have done better direct less energy to quoting other writers and more to expressing his own memories, perceptions, and emotions. It even seems to me that he may have been using his formidable powers of analysis and wide range of literary knowledge to avoid confronting the perceptions and emotions that were the most personal and intense for him. This may be an unfair criticism. I intend to reread the book, it definitely deserves this, to take more time with the books he cites, and then to see what I think.

The writer can be described as a critical theorist. He presents perspectives that open our minds. A good read for the more seriously minded.

Great Book!

I've been waiting for Andy's revised addition of his great improv book to come out and it's full of new exercises and techniques. I consider this book to be the "bible" for all improv actors who would love to learn the process. Andy has put down all the years of his experience into a fast and easy to understand book. I really enjoy the book very much and highly recommend it to all actors.
As a side befit, it has improved my ability of the audition process and getting me the parts and confidence I needed to land more jobs.

So glad I did

After taking several classes with Andy, I bought his book. So glad I did. I got to review the exercises and games we'd done in class, but there was so much more. Even if you've never had the pleasure of meeting the author, this book will be quite useful to those who wish to practice the art of improv comedy.

Great addition to my interview prep

There is a lot of great advice in here. I read the whole thing...twice...and referenced the questions later on multiple times. There are a few typos and formatting errors (most likely due to the conversion to Kindle version, which is what I got) but the information is all there. I felt confident going in to interviews and I was told multiple times that I was very well-prepared. I did end up landing a job (after 8 interviews, but I'm in a tough market) and I've been told by everyone on my interview panel how great my answers were and how well prepared I was (don't forget to RESEARCH YOUR SCHOOL, that was a big seller that tipped the odds from one candidate to me). Buy this if you're nervous about interviewing or a looking for your first teaching job (like me!)

A lot of the information it gives is pretty common sense

It's a fairly quick read, and there were lots of valuable practice questions. It's definitely aimed at first year teachers (makes a lot of references to going into teaching straight out of college which I found odd), but I'm sure veteran teachers could take something away from this too. A lot of the information it gives is pretty common sense, but it's still useful to have it reiterated. I think the most valuable part of the book for me was all the practice questions inside, and the chapter about how principals are looking for someone to make their job easier. Again, common sense, but it changed the way I was thinking about interviews. I got offered a job at the first interview I went to after reading this.

A fashionista read!

The Catwalk series is a must-have book trilogy for all fashionistas. Pashmina and crew take you on a furbulous journey through fashion stardom! Ms. Deborah Gregory does a fantastic job telling these characters stories. There's a character for everyone to relate to on a personal level. The book definetley gave me an inside look on the clawing fashion world. Overall, this book gave me so many great tips to working with friends, being organized, and being fashion forward. The last book in the series (Rip the Runway) gave a fast, but thrilling look on the past accomplishments and experience the House of Pashmina overcame. In my opinion, this book will live forever on my fashion book shelf. Kudos to Ms. Gregory for this fantastic fashion series!

Catwalk is A Colorful Wonderful Walk Down the Runway :D

As a fashion photographer, this read brought chuckles of found memories of colorful people I have worked with over the years. It allowed me to escape into the dreams of being a young girl again :D

Ms Gregory's style of writing paints pictures as you read. She captured my attention, with words on the page which is hard for me as I am an image maker so words rarely grab my attention for too long. Another reviewer said that it's a must-read if you're a fashionista. But I really enjoyed the books and I'm, well, not a fashion person at all. It's, well, not to repeat myself too much, very fun to read about kids designing their own fashion show. Honestly, the books are like a fashion-world harry Potter. Best way to describe them, really.

Dr. Kenneth S. Tramm has managed hundreds of environmental assessment projects concerning releases of a variety of contaminants at residential, commercial and industrial facilities. He is nationally recognized for presenting on site investigation techniques, risk-based corrective action methodology, ways to redefine remedial objectives, and brownfield redevelopment initiatives for putting impaired property back into commercially-viable uses. Dr. Crosby is a professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive industrial, consulting, and research experience involving contamination of soil, air, and groundwater.
