Urban developments in Hong Kong from its beginning to the present day are brought to life with concise references to prevailing social and economic conditions, planning laws and key urban theories. The last chapters provide critiques of existing urban environments with alternative urban design proposals based on contemporary ideas about sustainable design and well connected, interactive urban environments created on multiple grounds.
